The mission of Wildwood Christian School is “to prepare God’s children to change the world for Christ.”   To prepare our children, the faculty and staff have been actively seeking ways to give our students the opportunity to reach out for Christ.

In September, we had a walk-a-thon for a local food pantry in Norwich.  It was a resounding success, with almost 100% participation from the students. With money that was raised, the 2^nd and 3^rd grade students were able to see how their donations help others by actually shopping as a class, purchasing the food for the pantry. Even the pre-schoolers are involved in the project, coming up with a list of items they would like their teachers to buy for the pantry.

In December, we participated in Operation Christmas Child, filling shoe boxes for children in desperate situations around the world, with toys, hygiene products and the Good News of God’s love. The mission of this project is to focus on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.

Grades 4 – 8 also participated in Classroom Care, a program sponsored by Scholastic Books; if each grade read 100 books by December 19^th, Scholastic would donate 100 books in each grade’s name to shelters in Texas for abused and neglected children.  The children enjoyed this project while helping children their own age.

During one of our weekly chapel service we were visited by some missionaries from World Vision who shared with us their work in raising sponsors for children around the world. Grades 4 & 5 are sponsoring a child, Daisy Nohemy Ayala. She lives in El Salvador.  The class is praying for her and corresponding with her throughout the year. 

Remember, together we can change our world for Christ!
