What’s Happening at Wildwood….
By now, most of you are aware that we will be closed for the next two weeks, through the 27th of March. The health departments feel that is necessary to slow down the spread of Covid-19. We would like to keep our students connected and engaged in learning during this time away from school. Hopefully that will help us to keep our students moving forward and will limit the amount of days that we need to make up.
We will be open on Monday during regular school hours for people to pick up the students books and materials. We will even have materials ready for the preschoolers. We recommend that students’ lockers, cubbies, and desks be cleaned out (not preschool). If you are not able to come during these hours, call us and we will set up a different time for you to come. Teachers will have put together packets of learning materials that the children will be able to work on while school is closed. We also have set up an account on Moodle for distance learning. The teachers in grades 3-8 will be posting different kinds of activities including live chats, videos, etc,. to keep the students engaged. Next week we will be emailing each family in those grades with information on how to log in and how to get help if it is needed. We will be trying some other options as well. We understand that this may not work for every student and will be keeping that in mind as we go forward.
We have cancelled out Flapjack Fundraiser at Applebees’. If you have already paid for tickets, we will be refunding your money. The same is true of the trip to Mystic Aquarium. We will have our Julius Caesar play at a later date.
We wish we didn’t have to do this and are sorry for the inconvenience that this will cause you. We will be praying that all of you stay healthy and that we can return to our regular routine soon. In the meantime, we pray that God blesses you and gives you peace in the midst of this storm.
